  • You’ve gotten to the point in the application process where you’re being asked to submit a resume, cover letter, and maybe even a letter of recommendation (or two). Dawn shares best practices for crafting a strong profile of written materials that showcase your best self to potential employers.

  • There’s a lot that job seekers aren’t told about job boards, including the many job boards available to you, what employers pay to access through a board, and how you should follow up so that you actually get an interview - and hopefully, a job offer!

  • What should you wear to your interview? Should you bring your phone? What can you do to prevent blanking out when your interviewer asks you questions about your work history or skill set? Dawn discusses these questions plus tips on managing interview anxiety, showcasing your strengths, and practicing self-care post-interview.

  • You made it to your interview, so it’s time now to be sure you’re ready to answer the variety of questions your interviewers may ask you. And, you want to be sure you’re asking the right questions of your interviewer to determine if this is the right role for you. In this module, Dawn shares advice on best practices during your interview so you present yourself well, ask high-value questions (including compensation questions), and take steps to follow up after the interview, ensuring you’re a top candidate for an offer.

  • You’ve been working hard on your resume and cover letters, refining your job search, and applying for jobs. But your job search isn’t limited to sending in applications and hoping to hear back. In this module, Dawn advises you on how to network and meet professionals and potential employers in the community.

  • Your resume is in great shape, but what about your social media presence? In the 21st century where everyone leaves a digital footprint, future employers are Googling you to see how you present yourself online, in both professional and personal social media. Are you putting your best foot forward?

  • Your job is more than a line on your resume, or an annual benchmark you're trying to hit. It becomes your day-to-day life. Ensuring the employer and company are a good fit for your values, skills, and priorities is critical for reducing the likelihood you will leave soon after starting. In this video Dawn touches on green and red flags to be on the lookout for while you're interviewing. She also shares practical questions you can ask your interviewer to gain a fuller picture of the culture, values, and practices of the company!

  • As you start applying and interviewing for jobs, you are inevitably going to be rejected in your search for the right fit. In this module, Dawn shares strategies to cope with the different emotions, and constructive steps you can take to keep moving forward in your journey.

  • You’ve made it to the offer table, but your potential employer isn’t offering everything you need to thrive in this role. In this module, Dawn covers important pieces of the compensation package to consider beyond just salary, plus tips for tactfully communicating your priorities.

Course Testimonial

I had the opportunity to watch Dawn's crash course videos on professional topics, including LinkedIn, negotiating, social media, and networking. I found these videos to be very informative. Finding quality information on these subjects can often be challenging, but Dawn's explanations were clear and easy to understand. Whether you're a job seeker in need of guidance or simply looking to gain better professional skills, I highly recommend watching these videos.
